INITIAL BOTTLE OFFERING (IBO)

WHAT IS AN IBO?

Initial Bottle Offering (IBO) is our unique offer to investors that guarantees best price and quick reservation of exclusive wine beforehand. The term is similar to IPO (Initial Public Offering), and implies that there is a limited period of time, when wine is being sold directly from the Producer to Individual Investors before it is launched and publicly traded on the platform. Once there’s a new wine to be launched on Alti Wine Exchange, each bottle is tokenized and anybody can buy a limited amount of tokens that will be later on traded on the platform under an allocated ticker.

WHY SHOULD I SUBSCRIBE FOR AN IBO?

IBO lets you become one of the first ones to buy the wine before it is traded on the platform. Moreover, since that wine is stored by us, and you are essentially buying just a token, the price is significantly lower than what you will find on the market due to tax exemptions. Since the fine wine is expected to grow in price later on, IBO is considered as the best time for investment into a particular wine.

HOW DO I SUBSCRIBE FOR AN IBO?

Once a new IBO has been announced, there are two ways to subscribe for the new wine:

  • By paying for it directly on the platform.

  • By emailing us with the amount of bottles desired (only if you wish to make a bank transfer).

Bottles are reserved once the payment is confirmed. Once the IBO period is over, wine will be visible and available in your portfolio.

HOW OFTEN THERE ARE NEW IBOs ON THE PLATFORM?

The amount of IBOs depend on a whole variety of factors, however, usually there are in between 2 and 4 new IBOs per month.
